Sign of the times..8 M5's for sale in todays Times

The UK Sunday Times motoring section has an excellent profile/high readership combination and is probably the best place to sell a used M5.However, you hardly ever see more than 1 or 2 used M5's for sale. Today there is a choice of 8 ranging from £30,000 ($45,000US) to £57,000 ($85,500US)

Looks like some people are getting a bit worried!

Bullit, this may be a bad question, but why is it that whenever you see an M5 or V12 in London the driver always seems to be southern or eastern European?

I don't live in London so my perceptions may be skewed.

BMW website has 33 used M5s available ranging from 35K - 57K pounds although not sure if this is normal or not but would guess that job losses recently or worries regarding future has precipitated some people trading down.

It is an 1999 E39 model but left hand drive...useless for overtaking in the UK!

Prices for used M5's are reasonable. Here is a list of approved used M5's from the BMW dealer network

BMW M5 Saloon (Man) 99/ T 49860 miles, Silverstone Metallic £34,995
BMW M5 Saloon (Man) 0/ V 46200 miles, Carbon Black Metallic £35,995
BMW M5 Saloon (Man) 1/ Y 29954 miles, Oxford Green Metallic £39,995
BMW M5 Saloon (Man) 99/ T 36775 miles, Silverstone Metallic £39,995

A lot of property in central London ( Mayfair Knightsbridge ) is owned by people from southern or eastern European origin who tend to be very wealthy and can therefore afford beasts with big engines. A lot of Hotels are also based in Mayfair Knightsbridge, so you may get a skewed perception
