Never raced one but they are pretty quick. I remember reading a road test where it tied the 550i up to 100 and then very slowly pulled away. On the twisties it another story...
I haven't raced one of them--I'm not even sure I've seen one, bland as they are--but regardless I wouldn't worry too much. The 450 definitely stands a better chance at highway speeds rather than off the line--and it would probably fair better than most would expect--but even with the hybrid and CVT I don't think it would match a M5 that was actually trying.
More importantly, I'm wondering why a 450h driver would even be up for an impromptu drag race. They're not exactly cars designed for the driving enthusiast.
But all the same, this raises a good point: as time goes by, more and more of the "lesser" sedans will start approaching and exceeding ours in accelerative capabilities.
