I know some poor folks who are on the 72 week program, so I feel fortunate .... The car is in great hands now and I do not have to concern myself with it one bit, which is a nice feeling.
Very happy to hear, Dave that you are slowly getting your life back in order. Obviously with what you're battling the car is secondary, but happy that you found the right guy to tune it and put it on the road where it has belonged for a long time. Just hang in there for a bit longer as far as your recovery is concerned, it is very encouraging that you are making progress and in fact on a relative basis are surpassing many other less fortunate people's recovery schedule.

Stay well and keep us informed! Best!

PS: Still up for meeting next time you are in NYC!

I do not doubt his judgement, but you do have a fully built, forged and sleeved motor.

Dave,

I have followed this thread for some time now. Incredible build you have going here! I can't wait for the day that you get to drive her and post up and tell us how much fun you had.

My father has Hep C. He was diagnosed in 2000. He is now in end stage liver disease. The drug cocktails he has been on now for many years have taken a huge toll. He has found the right combo now that he can live with. The interferon really messed with him, made him feel like he had the flu all day every day and gave him nightmares. I bring this up for two reasons. First my thoughts and prayers are with you as I have seen what he went through first hand and know just hard it can be. Second, he had to sue his insurance company and his employer to qualify for disability (they said he could work through it all!). He got some experts involved and it made a huge difference in his lawsuit. I don't know if you are having these same issues but if you are please contact me and I will get you all the contact info you need. I hope things have changed in the past 9 years and it isn't the same struggle today to get the benefits you paid for and deserve but if you need help I can point you in the right direction.

Don't push it and get over tired as your treatment goes on it becomes harder and harder to recover from days when you overexert yourself. I am sure some stranger on a car forum cant tell you anything your docs haven't already! Take care!

I understand what you are saying except someone other than VAC had been in the motor and when Mr. X came in to do the tune and he did not trust to push the engine anymore than he did , which was a good choice as there is a noise coming from the engine that should not be there which is going to be corrected here soon. The car is making good power and great torque and if the next owner wants to go further I have all the extra parts he will need to do so. A few examples that created caution was the car was 1 1/2 quarts low on oil when Mr.X got his hands on the car, not too cool, and it was shipped straight to him from the previous shop. The car is in a place where I TRUST the people , not like before ,where in actuality the people would not release the car to me after asking for 24,000.00 $$$, with out my written guarantee I would not sue them for damages, never heard of a business doing that before. Another example of why Mr. X was cautious is the previous shop actually drilled a hole my thermostat to keep the car from over heating , a 15,000$$ engine and it's not like they did not have the car in their possession long enough to have taken care of any problems , anyway it is what it is.... A big mistake made on choosing the original people to work on my car from the beginning and after 3 + years my patience wore out. Mr. X's cost was less than what the previous shop's tuner charged me and he came in special to just help me out and he actually tuned the car. So there were reasons Mr. X chose the direction he chose as he had to clean up someone else's mess first and I am just glad that he was willing to do the work at a very fair price.A side note , I am still missing a bav auto expensive car cover that someone took out of my trunk at the previous shop and was promised a new one that has never made it to me yet, months later...

Thanks for the thoughts of good will. I have found you are correct the longer into the treatment the worse I feel. Only 14 more weeks to go.....

D-, I think it was your cover they had put over my car at the time (by accident i was told!) and when I picked up my car your cover wasn't in my trunk. I too have a Bav Auto cover (which was at home at the time), so def didn't take yours when I picked up my car. It is probably still there in the shop, but I imagine at this point you are done dealing with them.

It had nothing to do with you at all . Yeah by accident it came out of my trunk of my car and was used on your car and totally trashed because of the environment in which it was exposed . Yeah I am done dealing with people that can not at least tell the truth about a 200.00$$ car cover after there was over 60K spent during my car's stay at their shop and the car still did not run properly.I will definitely get up with you and Ray when I make my way to the city , I promise as soon as I am over all this crap I am going through with my health....

Insult to injury

I just found out that PREVIOUS SHOP welded the ESS supercharger bracket to the air conditioning bracket which is connected to the motor bracket. So to take the supercharger bracket off the whole front of the engine had to come apart to fix the lifters that some how are not working properly after the PREVIOUS SHOP opened up the engine instead of sending the engine to the builder ,VAC ,as I told them to do in the begining when there was a problem ( I mean , I did spend 20K at VAC on the motor , only because the PREVIOUS SHOP did not know about a M62 TU motor and it cost me an extra 8K , of course the PREVIOUS SHOP blames VAC) . Another jack leg repair , just like drilling the hole in the themostat to get the engine to run cooler.AMAZING to me how the car even runs actually and did I mention the car was 1 1/2 quarts low on oil when it arrived in Florida straight from the PREVIOUS SHOP ? Oh well the PREVIOUS SHOP can not even afford to send me a car cover they ruined after I paid them 20K+ for a car that was not working properly and forced to sign a piece of paper stating that I would not sue them for damages just so I could just get my car out of their shop. As soon as I get pictures I will post them up and I will eventually will post up all the bills from the PREVIOUS SHOP here and elsewhere soon so all people can see .... The car will be up and running here soon , THANKS to Mr. X and friends. Only 3 more months to go on treatment and it seems to be working......
