Slang

I would be interested in hearing some of the slang words you guys use when you're driving. Expressions like, "floor it", "leadfoot"(it's interesting that even Russians know these terms), etc. Would also like to hear some slang that's specific to M5 drivers

I've only got one that's probably unique. I use it to decribe minivan soccer mom's who are dangerous in their obliviousness:

DIP (verb)

used in the slang venacular to express a race.

used in context

I was dippin with this e55 yesterday. (i was racing this e55 yesterday)

I dipped this e55 (i won to a e55)

I got dipped by this ferrari. (i lost to this ferrari)

Either you dip, or you get dipped.

The only truly unique one I've heard lately around here is, if you've "keystoned" a guy, you've beaten him by a carlength in a race.

Borrowed from the retail world I presume...

Avoye Tabarnak!!!

I hope there isn't many french people on this board and that I didn't offence anyone with this saying. It's truly french and it's from the french language we use in the Province of Quebec which is some sort of a french slang

Jet,

I looked at this late last night not a clue. My French teacher in college (after 3 years of German) told me in week 6 (with a heavy French accent " Alan ..... you should drop zis class, you are FLUNKING !) All I could say was "Danke und auf Wiedersehen!"

How about a slight hint as to it's meaning for the French-Speaking Impaired ?!?

Tabarnak(tabernaque) is used in many expressions in Quebec. It has religious connotations and refers to the tabernacle. It is almost impossible to translate most of these idioms(and slang), but when you hear them you get the idea.

Many French and Quebecois expressions are related to the RC church
