So now I am going to return the cans and tips and get a 14186 or a 14185. What is everyone preference? I will still be doing the Supersprint Xpipe.
Oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained right?

I love the 14816's that I have. One of the reasons is the larger tips. I think they look (and sound) really great.

Thanks for the heads-up! I personally prefer the 14815s because they are just a bit larger than stock, and don't have a beveled inner edge like the 14816s.

just had my 14185's installed. couple of questions.did any of you leave heat shields from the stock exhaust on , how big is the gap suppose to be between the valance and the tips and do yours look like the outside tips are sitting little lower the the ones on the inside?? i saw couple of photos but those are mostly with 14186's and they fill the valance gap more.
thanks guys

Still in place. I had mine done at a race shop who customizes and works on American muscle cars. They did a great job. I paid about $575 which is what the local meineke and midas were charging.

i totally freaked out when i saw how meineke installed my mufflers ...no heat shields , one of the pipes they fabricated was completely messed up. mufflers were hanging too low . i went to pickup the car and i was in shock.it was closing time so he told me to bring the car again. i went back next morning with photos of the installed mufflers mike s posted and the owner of the shop ordered new pipes and did the work himself because the mechanic who originally did the work started bitching how he can't do it any better. i picked it up last night and it's like day and night compared to how it looked before....2.25 " inlets were cut off and replaced with 2.5" pipes ,heat shields are on using stock hangers, better pipes ,they look nicely tucked in the valance, everything was welded and they painted the pipes | | |
