Based in my previous thread without replys... I think is better to change the question for this...

Someone knows which is the best manner (or simply the manner) to raise 200 rpms the idle of the E39 M5???

The car is an Euro model, this is because talking with Sean (D/A) said that the ECUs are diferent (I do not know in what things...)

Why? My car idles at abt 600rpms when it's warm. Why do you want to raise it??

Because I have a lightweight flywheel and when revin' down fast the car can not maintain the idle and stops...

I need to raise from aprox. 600 rpm to aprox 800-900 rpm

The only way I know to raise the idle is to reprogram the ECU. The idle speed is controlled bya software feedback circuit, so making mechanical changes will simply force the software to compensate back to 600 rpm, until it can no longer do so. I suppose it's theoretically possible to drill a hole in the idle speed compensator if there is one (idle speed is often controlled by a small compensator valve, but not all cars work the same way) but I don't know enough about that for this particular car to have any concrete suggestions. Drilling the hole would be tricky in any event b/c it would be hard to know how big to make the hole w/o experimenting, and possibly ruining a few compensators in the process. Isn't anyone, like Powerchips, able to reprogram your ECU?

As far as I know the only way to do this is by software. Companies like PowerChip can do it for you when upgrade to their software.

Powerchip and other brands based in the US are not capable to resolve the problem in Euro models...

Other brands from EU can not do it except one in the UK but needs to have the car and I am living in Spain so very expensive...

Thanks for the idea of the hole... If I do not ear something better I will try with this but I have time to find a better option

I am looking about these terms in the www.realoem.com page...

Using IDLE as a word string to find... the results was:

Part 13411733090 (T-SHAPE IDLE REGULATING VALVE)... I do not know if this valve do the same work as I need...

Are there no decent chip-tuners located in Spain? I mean, guys that can adapt software themselves, and not just copy some values from another company?

I got my M5 chipped, and there were definitally values I could choose for myself, e.g. rev limiter, speed limiter etc. I'm 100% sure the guy that chipped my car (http://www.power-plus.be) can fix your idle problem.

Thanks Frits, Can you give me an aproximately price of the ECU you are using...

Mine is an UPSOLUTE ECU, I talk yesterday with they and said it would be posible to do this putting more load, but this affect to all of the rpm range not only in the idle!

I payed a little over €500 for the software if I remember correctly. Prices are on the site, I payed less than the advertised price.

Ummmmm nice price!!!! but the problem is I am in Spain and these guys are in Belgium... and I can not go to there with my car...

You could send them your ECU, they adapt it, and send it back. Ofcourse, you won't be able to drive your car in the meantime...
