Fair price for 02 E39 M5?

I was thinking about selling my beast and just wanted to poll opinions about what the fair value for my car is. Here are the specs:

2002 E39 M5
Carbon/carmel
45k miles
Mods:
Tubi cat back (standard version)
Powerchip 93
only 3k miles on mods
FL car - no winters
condition is 8 out of 10 for the car overall - ie. nice condition for a car with 45k miles

I would guess approximately $40,000 if you want to move it. Good luck on the sale.

By the way, do you have pics of your GT2 Evo? What mods have you done? What did you do to get the car to 2200 pounds?

Thanks

I have some pics of my Evo on this site:

http://www.c2turbo.com/photopost/sho...t=1&perpage=12&=

It's the bright orange car at the bottom of that page. The car is based on a lightened 1977 tub. The motor is a full race spec 3.4L motec EFI turbo.

Thanks for sharing the pics. That is a very nice car. Now that is a WHALE tail.

2200 pounds with 700 hp must be a recipe for some amazing acceleration!

I think that number is at least $5k high, unfortunately. The value of the mods are $0.

You asked for the value, not asking price...

IMHO

Good luck

A

Just curious, if the car had a full Dinan S2 package ($35k retail), how much would you think this would add to the base value of an M5? $10k more?

I am still searching for an S2.

Thanks.

I just bought a 02 White with 35K with the red/blk sport interior lots of options but stock otherwise. Perfect condition super clean. Paid 38K. Seems to be the going rate. 40 might be too high ??

Of course this depends on the buyer. Tubi and Powerchip are two great mods worth money to buyers in the know.

If your mods are appreciated, then 40K might be reasonable top dollar for the right buyer. Otherwise you are in the thirties depending on how nice your car is.

Good luck with your sale.

I would normally agree that mods are worth zero but anyone here would agree that the Tubi/Powerchip 93 combo are tasteful upgrades that significantly enhance the car. It is a matter of finding the right buyer.

Thanks for the feedback and I'll be sure to post some pics if/when I put the car up for sale.
