OT: The new Lamborghini Murciélago (the Diablo relacement)! Pics
Hey guys,
Found these pics of the all new outrageous replacement for the Diablo. It's called the Murciélago.
Named after the very brave and spirited bull Murciélago who had his life spared by the famous matador Rafael Molina “Lagartijo” on October 5th 1879, the new super sports car by Lamborghini – under supervision of its mother Audi - is a very ambitioned project. The developers wanted to create a synthesis of technical and safety aspects together with a very aggressive and athletic design.
Not without good reason did Lamborghini dare to characterize the successor of the Diablo with the seven deadly sins.
And one thing is for sure: This automobile is a sin!

Nice design. Refreshing, without losing the Lamborghini feel to it. Reminds me slightly of the Affolter conversions aswell, hope they give it some serious power to go with that look.

Great design, incorporates a good amount of Lambo traditional elements in it. Looks like a Diablo around the front and Countach in the view from the rear...
This design looks very clean, just like the initial early '70s designs of the Countach...although Lamborghini always seem to cave to the money (and bad taste) and add lots of wings after a while

Yeah, it looks like a combination of the Diablo and the legendary countach. But I think it'll look better with a rear wing and painted in black! to colmplete it, it should have a registration plate '666'.

Not to discredit what you've said, but the picture of the diablo replacement is in the september issue of Automobile Magazine and it looks much different than that...it's code named the L147, and it has a real spy photo, not a picture like that one.... but I'm thinking that may be the baby diablo everyone has been talking about...the baby brother of the new lamborghini replacment for the diablo????

There has been talk about a replacement for the smaller V8 Jalpa car for quite some time now to go head to head with the F360 Modena. I would think that with VW's resources both the V12 car pictured here and the L147 are likely on the cards.

There must be some very nice technology going in this Lambo as well though, 5 valve per cilinders, etc...
if you look in the dash pic the redline only starts at 8000rpm...

It looks like a mix between a Diablo, a Ferrari 360, and a Nissan Z car!
I think that it does look pretty. A car like this might actually be able to take advantage of wings---after all, it does go pretty fast. But my guess is that it would be better to have that vacuum system that was made illegal in F1 some years ago, and keep the outside minimal.
