        UUC short shifter fix installed

just installed uuc's fix for the shifter buzz. it was easy to install and seems to have eliminated the buzz/resonance in 1st and 2nd. it also seems to be less notchy and smoother. makes it even better than it was.

one thing i did notice is that my shifter knob light is no longer working. checked all of the connections but just can't get it to go back on. anybody have any suggestions?

Happened to me. While putting the knob back on it caught and cut one of the wires. Check them and talk to your dealer. They replaced mine without issue.

tim, i did check the wires and they look intact.

mattar, i wasn't expecting my update. in fact i had spoken with rob levinson at uuc the day it arrived. he told me that although there was a thread on bimmer.org about shipping the updates that thread was premature and they were not yet shipping them. go figure!

install was much, much easier than i expected. rob's instructions were crystal clear and well written. hope you receive your update shortly.
