Clearbra insights needed . . . (more)

I am planning on having a clear bra-type product installed on my 2002 M5 when it arrives in the fall. I have narrowed my choice to either Stoneguard or ClearBra. I am trending toward ClearBra because it involves a custom install (can be applied to almost any extent on the car as opposed to Stoneguard which is a precut kit), is slightly thicker (12 vs. 8 mils) and canb be wrapped around and under leading edges such as hood and bumper lips on a car. Has anyone experienced this product firsthand? Pros or cons?

Thanks for your help.

/Rich

I have the 3M product and it is very good. Having had a black 5 series before, I knew how many stone chips I would get in the front. My ar is a year-round use vehicle. Yeah, snow, rain and everything else!

So far so good, the only issue is the white Zaino line where the film stops, people say "oh no your car has been keyed!"

I hope I keep this one for a while, that will make it worth it. (I have the bumpers, air dam, hood and even the mirrors done.)

I had the 3M product on my silver 2000 Porsche 996 and you could barely tell it was there. On that car I only did the bumper. On my 2001 carbon black M5 I have it on the bumper, headlights, foglights and the small hood and fender piece. I like it very much except that on dark colors the finish line is very noticable on the hood. I have thought about taking that piece off but probably won't because that would involve removing the small kidney grills and I dont want to scratch anything. Both clearbras I had were precut specifically for the car so no cutting had to be done at install. My installer doesn't feel compfortable cutting it as you go.
Hope that helps. Bill
