Sad day for me...

On Thrusday I totalled my car. I still don't know what really happened but the rear end broke loose while entering the freeway and when I tried to correct, it didn't want to and went left across the freeway and I went head on into the freeway median. No one else was involved thank the Lord and I only suffered a deep muscle contusion in my left bicep and shoulder.

I plan on getting another one in a few months.

Here's the afermath. And before anyone asks the engine was destoryed.

Wow... sorry to hear about the collision. Thankfully no one got hurt.

You might want to have the car inspected to see why the rear went out (just to make sure that a defect did not cause the crash).

Anyway, glad to hear you're ok. Good luck searching for a new animal.

Hmmm. I'd say the problem you've got is either your O2 or your MAF sensors

Seriously though - good that you are OK. Well built these E39 M5's

Good luck finding a replacement.

Glad you are okay. That was a serious blow! And a little too close to home, since I live in Escondido as well.

Hope the insurance works out okay. I was just searching for E39 S2's and there are a few on autotrader.com. Most are way overpriced.

sorry to hear and gald you walked away ok! How fast do you think you were going when you impacted? Car really did well, driver cage intact. I had the same color...so sad to see this. Maybe a good opportunity to take the plunge to the E60?

That's quite an impact but the car seems to have survived well and I am pleased that you are relatively unhurt.

Good luck in searching for a new beast..

Glad you are OK. Cars can be replaced, people cannot.
Question: was DSC engaged?
Regards,
Jerry

OUCH Sorry to hear man. Good that it stayed a single-car wreck.

Good luck in your search for a replacement. Any thoughts on what you want to replace her with?

Careful out there guys!

Dave

i am very glad to hear that you are ok. sorry about the beast. but it seemes like it did it's secondary job, protecting you.

on that note... any additional info you can relay about the impact itself? appx speed, impact force, crumple zones, what the police/emergency services guys had to say about how the vehicle protected you compared to others they have seen...

this is good info for it makes us have a better and more practical understanding about how the cars are also built for our protection. not that manner of obtaining it is the best way to get it, but if it doesn't hurt too much to think about it [in a few days] i'd appreciate how you think the car did in protecting you. thanks.

again, glad that you are well.
