US Spec M5 in Europe?

I know Europe has generally more relaxed standards than the US, but can you legally drive a US spec M5 in europe, or are there emissions/safety issues like Euro spec cars in the US?

Since BMW offers an european delivery plan, you should be able to. US military members can have their cars in europe also. If you are importing a US spec (i.e.; a permanent move to the EU) , you may have to change glass, lights and other things to meet EU regs, but if you are just going to have it for a short while and can guarantee that you will be taking it back out after a specified time, then you shouldn't have to do anything. Same way when others bring their cars into the US.

It depends whether you want you want to drive as a visitor (time restrictions apply) or whether you want to import the car permanently.

Daniel from Beastpower imported his car to the UK and I see no problem with doing this. You may have to get the car certified (known as Type Approval) in the country of destination, although once it's type approved in one country this should be acceptible anywhere in the EU.
