Uh oh, my Tubi Rumore is no longer music to my ears!

Yes that's right. I drove a fellow board members car today to see how his KW-v2 suspension felt as I'm also thinking of this modification, and I absolutely fell in love with his car's Britalman exhaust and x-pipe's intoxicating sound.

So, now I'm thinking I may sell my Tubi Rumore which has maybe 12k-15k miles on it over the last year or so.

Can anyone shed some light on what a slightly used and enjoyed Tubi Rumore exhaust would go for?

And PLEASE UNDERSTAND, this has nothing to do with the quality/build of the Tubi. I'm more than satisfied with the Tubi from this perspective. It's absolutely stunning to look at, but I'm just looking for a new reason to roll down my windows.

Thanks for any insight and I hope I've not upset anyone by asking this question here. This is not a solicitation to sell, just getting a feel for what the market would bear for a used Tubi in excellent condition IF I decided to sell it.

Thank you,
TripleD

I have recently gone in the other direction more or less. I bought my '01 M5 with the Britalman fitted and initially thought it was great - really loud and lots of rumble.

After a few months though my opinion had changed completely. the resonance in the cabin sub 2000rpm really was beginning to 'do my head in'. and I found it to be very wearing.

So I recently swapped it for a Tubi regular and am very pleased with the difference.

I would really suggest you go for a long test drive in your friends car (maybe over a weekend) and see if you honestly think you can live with it. Do lots of town driving when your pootling in high gears! See if you can bear it! If you do decide to go for it, I'd keep your Tubi as you may well find you want to put it back on again.

I sold my Britalman recently. It was 12 months old and I got 40% of its new price. You may get more for the Tubi as there seems to be more of a merket for them.

Thanks for the insight. I was afraid someone would say this and you have a good idea of keeping the Tubi in case I get tired of the Britalman.

I spent a great deal of time making the Tubi Rumore decision a while back and really don't want to go thru this again, but I just can't stop thinking about that sound. I don't really know the other owner well enough to drive the car for an extended time, but maybe I'll ask for another ride along. I do have clients in the car from time to time and I don't want to irritate them.

Pretty amazing how different our board members opinions really are. Guess that's why this place is such a success.

David

I have only read people switching from Britalman and not to. However about Tubi I have heard all good.

I see both sides of the conversation here. I'm the friend who David is talking about.

The Britalman exhaust sound (for me) is absolutely perfect. It has just the amount of bass down low, and has a nice deep rip/wail at the higher RPM...I used to have a modified Corvette Z06 that was all raced out, headers, full exhaust, even full 3" exhaust at one point. That car would give me a headache sometimes, even though it was soooo fun to drive. With that said, I have never ever been annoyed by my Britalman exhaust. I guess it just depends on what you are used to and what you like.

When I drove David's car with the Tubi today, it sounded great of course, but quieter than mine and a little less exhaust personality lets say, the car doesn't speak to you as much and make as many of those different tones through the range that you can really hear and feel.

By the way David, thanks for the spin in your car.

On the flip side, when he left the parking lot and I was already inside the front of my work building, I was like Wow, that thing sounds good, and LOUD.

Mine must sound rediculous leaving my work parking lot every day...not to mention my neighbors must hate me.

Well, anyways I guess where I am going with this ramble is that everyone's perspective of loud is different.

I can see why lots of you guys like the Tubi, it is great quality and it has that refined sound that has a lot of rumble, but not TOO loud. I usually like my cars very aggressive so that is why I am in love with the Britalman sound. I admit though, if the Britalman was much louder, it might be too loud.

Hope this helps.

I installed the Britalman about two months ago and I love it so far.

I've never heard of any negative feedback for any TUBI product.

I was afraid this would happen. Please understand, this is not negative feedback on the Tubi, just a personal preference. In fact, I had no idea I even had this personal preference until I heard the Britalman on the M5.
Again, I do like the Tubi. Workmanship and quality may be the best of the bunch. I guess it really all started about two years ago when I heard the Dinan. I really liked the low end, but at that time, I was more intrigued by the reputation and high end pitch of the Tubi, hence my decision.
I guess I may be ready for a change. After another ride along. How 'bout it Garrett?
David

Yes, finally someone has answered my question. Britalmans it is. Loud and aggressive I like. Not to mention the xpipe, from what I have been reading thus far reduces rattle and sway. I'm putting my order in next month. We like the cars...the cars that go boom!

Wow...can't imagine you would want louder than the Rumore..I have it and really get embarrassed at times 'cause I have to idle onto the block if it is real early or late so as not to wake up or piss off the neighbors. Any louder and I would think I was back in high school with glass packs on my 455 Buick GS Stage I. My parents took the heat then!! To me, it is such a refined "loud" that is really fits perfectly the image of the car...fast but exclusive. And at high rpms, it is purely exotic..something you won't get out of the Britalmans that I have heard. Just my two cent as I know we all have our opinions. If you want louder, stick an x-pipe on the Tubis.
