Kidney Transplant [Painting kidney grille flat-black]

Hey Everyone,

So after posting up the pictures of my new BBS wheels, and everyone noticing my silver kidneys, I decided to take my Sunday off to do this small DIY project. I've always loved the quality I've achieved using Duplicolor products on car parts, so I used them again for my kidney grills. I chose to use a Flat-Black paint for the kidneys. Removal and installation was very easy, and priming/painting took about 30 minutes. I let it cure in the sun for 3 hours afterwards. The first picture was only after 2 light coats of primer, and the remainder are the results:

The car is dirty from my recent Norcal to Socal roadtrip, but besides that, what do you guys think?

John

M5555: Wow, I think it looks awesome! It matches your car very well. Good job! Btw, is the Duplicolor paint fairly heat resistant?

Nice job. I'm also a fan of Duplicolor products. I hope you clearcoated them well.

Jefsmr2 - It is very heat resistent because I used the Duplicolor Engine Enamel line of paint that handles up to 500 degrees

Palantirion - Yeah I put about 5 coats of each (primer, paint, clear).

Thanks everyone for the comments

Stealth - Good luck man!

Palantirion - Have you had a chance to redo your wife's interior replacing the fabric with paint?
