Problem folding backseats

Hey fellas, now this is kinda weird...i dont know how to fold down the backseats on the m5, i had a 523 before and it had kind of a handle that you pulled and the seats would fold down, but i cant find anything on this one, so i looked in the manual and it says pull the handle or unlock (some kind of lock) with the key then fold it down, now i neither have that handle nor any place to insert a key....
its a m5 e39, 00...sport seats, leather...
need urgent reply, im fitting in some luggage tomorrow

thanks, peace out and merry xmas

I just asked gustav privately cuz im in a rush to get the answer, however to your answer which isnt silly...I guess NO

I didnt even know that the through load system was an option or not but thought it was standard to all e39's and surprised my fully equiped didnt have it..so i guess the answer is no, unfortunatly.

Probably you don't have folding back-seats.
If you have folding back seat it's pretty obvious how to fold it down. Nothing "funny" or secret there. The locking option is just to lock it from the inside if for instance you have your car valeted and dont want anybody to look inside your trunk.
Det är precis likadan anordning som på Volvo, Saab eller VW.

Yes, folding rear seats is an option and not all M5s have it. If you have them, the latches are at the tops of the seat backs, right inside the car by the C pillar. I think the folding seats often came with the rear window retractable sun shade, so if you're missing that, you probably don't have the folding seats, either, though I'm not certain about that.

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."

When I was helping Reverend with his M5, he doesn't have the folding seats, I do. If you don't have the latches on top of the rear seats, you do NOT have folding seats.

Ouch! Now that hurt

Of course there is the clean liscense and lower insurance.

I get the windows replaced before New Year's (hopefully) Then re-tint.

I'm gonna fight the ticket (but will probably loose).

Time to shop around for better insurance, including calling body shops and dealers to see how the different insurance companies are with claims.

I'll get there, I'm gonna add a carputer soon, wanna help Brian? I also gotta put the Christmas presents on my wife's M3.
