Broken swaybar brackets

The searches I've done are not clear on this quick question. I was getting the snows put on this weekend when the installer showed me the brackets on the rear swaybar are broken on both ends. I swear I didn't even notice this while driving, as I didn't hear any rattling, but I don't throw the car around much, either.

Question; do I have to replace brackets AND swaybar or just brackets? I will track the car next season once or twice. I'm not a talented driver; I'm safe, I just don't know how to take turns correctly, heel-to-toe, etc. Basically, the M5 is too much car for me, but I don't care. It makes me look good.

Thanks for the advice.

Kevin

Just replace the brackets and bushes, check the drop links on either side too, if the sway bar was that loose I would be very surprised if those 2 drop links are ok.

I replaced mine with OEM because they are very cheap but there are a couple of other options out there - do a search and you will get a LOT of hits!

You will notice a difference once you have them replaced

Hi,

Purchase the Beast Power Alloy ones, not cheap,
and never think about them again.

The OEM will always fail.

Regards,

The Gorilla.

Hi: the OEM ones are $4.75. With a little squirming, you can replace them without jacking up the car. Not possible, however, if your friends call you Refridgerator.

What Gorilla said + 1 . OEM thin and have a reputaion to break which when they break usually other thing can go...I think they are like 120.00$$USD at beastpower and they will not break.... Or I should say I have never heard of the TC Design ones going bad....

From what I've read the beefed up Beastpower brackets are the way to go

Bottom Line - Purchase the brackets from Beastpower(Daniel) and never worry about this ever again. You will need to purchase the rubber inserts from the dealer if yours have fallen out when the OEM bracket failed and either bent back or broke off.
