DICE ipod text display question

I posted this is response to the thread on this topic, but wanted to post this here in hopes of getting advice quicker. If people are like me they may not check those threads...

I had my dice ipod adapter installed last week. At the install place it worked great - full text display and all. It still works great for sound, but somehow I messed up the full text display. I know that everything is connected right because it worked the first time. If someone could please give me a step by step on how to get full text display to work in an m5 with navigation (mine is a non-dsp with a mkIV head unit, 2003 car) I would really appreciate it. THank you in advance.

I had the same problem and found that if you push the 'pty' button (it's the first button below the number buttons on the left, it will turn the text mode on and off. If you depress button number one you can scroll through the songs and if you push number two you can scroll between playlists. Hope that helps.

Press #6...... then right arrow to scroll through the display options..... it will not say display options...simply tracks but as you do so the text is routed..... it may take a short time as the system reconfigures itself......

track 3 = display under the speedo

track 6 = Nav screen

I hope that this helps

Er, I don't have a pty button. At least I don't think I do. I will turn pty on and see if that helps. Thanks again.

I have the ice-link plus in my car for over a year now and lost the text shortly after install. I was given some software files to load on my ipod and run from the ipod that will set the text-to-nav or text-to-obc when you loose the connection. After a year I still loose the text from time-to-time and either have to toggle the "mode" button to get it back and in rare occasions run one of these files.

I don't know if the DICE version will work with these files. Perhaps you could contact Dension and find out.

Good luck! :p
