They have the decimal point in the wrong place. You can expect (BEST CASE) 2.5HP - in the real world.

However there ARE heat soak issues with our cars. If you measure a very hot engine after it as been sitting still a while on a hot day, and you do the dyno run very soon after startup, the stock car can easily be DOWN 25 HP. And if those are the apples you compare, then the CAI may well deliver 25HP more. The problem is this isn't steady-state. As soon as the car is out on the road and gets some cooling flow the intake temperature approaches ambient air temp and the benefits of a CAI go away.

Some nice to know background...

Generally Germany (where the design/testing started) is more temperate -in the summer it's 10-15 degrees cooler than in the US east/midwest and never gets to 100 (Summer 70's-80's -rarely 90's). So most homes have no air conditioning -not needed. Also, few cruise around huge metropolitain higher temp cities, as here cities are smaller, full of trees etc...

In adition to all those climate issues, air intake temps are also lower because at slow autobahn speed, you are still cruising at over 100 miles per hour... -so the design was originally with those conditions, which are hard to replicate in the US...

Nice comments MarkQC. So, maybe I'll just get the grill with the ports for the "look." Houston is mild even in the Winter and Summer is about 95-100 degrees with 80% humidity. I do not track the car and just want mods for the 0-80 mph performance primarily. Sounds like an SSK is in order.

Thanks or all the comments.

If you have searched, your gut feeling would tell you that the power claims that AA makes is crap.

Had it and while it worked, i know it didnt make 25hp...hell it didnt even make half that on THEIR dyno when I had it installed.

Thats beautiful!! I will have to remember that one!

Has anyone done a filterless dyno run?
Seems like if the stock filter setup is restricting alot of air that a CAI could result in any real dyno measurement, that a filterless run would provide the biggest gain, telling us what the max gain a filter intake system could get.
Thoughts?

sorry for anyone who read my comments... I read AEM over AA.

Even though it's a different intake, I find it ihard to believe AA can get 25hp out of an intake.

Jcrist should sound off on this, but if I remember correctly, he actually lost hp with the AA CAI.
