I have used two sets of Falken FK451. They were OK. Handled decently, a little noiser than previous PS1 and don't stick as well, but price was right.
My next tire will likely be Toyo T1R. Also considering Yokohama Advan Neova. Being a natural tightwad, I'll probably decide by price when the time comes.
I just shod my beast with Kumhos. So far so good; the ride is good, and the handling is also good-- although I don't track the car. Overall, they are great value for strret use.
Dont waste your time with those tires...either of them. Neither have the capabilities to handle a 4000lb sedan properly. The SPT's and the 452 are ok tires but there is better stuff out there for just a few dollars more. The SPT's have a fairly large following in the Pontiac GTO realm where lower priced is generally a large consideration. They are ok but lack precision (tho alot of tires in the lower pricing areas will) and generally loose response and feel with their sligthly squishier sidewalls with heavier weights such as with the GTO and M5.
I'm lookinga t the TOYO Proxes 4 for my next tyre as I have read some good reviews on them and givens the laws over here, caught doing anything over 125 kph and you can kiss your license goodbye.
The local tyre shop has them for AUD$295 each where as the OEM Dunlops are AUD$550.

I have just had Yokohama Advan Sport V103s fitted to all 4 paws. Price total fitted AUD$1730 (approx $1350US). Happy with the ride, and stick, compares favourably with Pirelli PZero Rosso, Conti contact sports, Michelin PS2s IMHO. Good bang for the buck so far, will know more after a few ks espec re tyre wear.

Proxes4 are quite good...i recommended them to a few of my buddies in the VW community.
As for the Advan Sport V103's, I dont think ive ever heard of them....although here in the states we do get an Advan Sport (no V103 designator though). The Pir. Pzero Rosso's are horrible tires...sure they are quiet and have good road manners but cant grip for crap. I would suggest just about anything else. I might even suggest Kumho over the Rosso's.

I'd have to agree with you on the Rossos... I had them on my M3 and thought the same thing but still wouldn't want the Kumhos or Falkens either.
