Different clutch pedal feel between M5's?

I have the 11" UUC units with the performance organic discs. I would think they should feel the same but they are complete opposites. My 01 has about 8K miles of use on it and my 02 S2 has about 4K miles of use.

The clutch pedal in the 01 is much stiffer then stock and the pedal in the S2 feels like stock or even lighter, anyone know why this is?

Lucky barsteward.

If I buy an extra clutch and put it in the trunk, I will have two different clutches too. They will even feel (act)
different.

Somehow, I don't think it will feel the same.

Not all S62 motors put out exactly the hame hp's, some are stronger than others. I would hazard a guess that not all UUC clutches are exactly the same

Its to do with a number of things, the major ones are;

1) breakin procedure for each unit
2) whether the clutch/brakes hav been bled properly
3) whether or not the installer swapped the slave unit, or simply swapped the new pin into the old unit.

The UUC 11" kits use a different slave unit that reduces pedal effort back to stock. Maybe the stiff one didn't get that installed?

BTW, are you otherwise happy with the UUC? Rollover noise any problem? Did you have the idle rpm bumped up?

I am very happy with the clutch, it grabs like hell with no problems. It does have some rollover noise but nothing major and definately worth it for the peace of mind it gives me. I did get the powerchip software and had the idle raised, but my S2 has the Dinan software so I'm not sure if they do anything to accomodate the rollover. Both cars sound the same in regards to rollover even though I am running different software.

Rollover = gear lash, nothing harmful about it really. It's more to do with how much the owner cares about having a silent car at idle (when the car is hot). It sounds like they swapped the pin (the UUC/E31 pin is longer to accomodate the new clutch/pressure plate travel) from your UUC slave to your stock slave on one car, and used the entire E31 unit on your other car.

I have the UUC stage 3 6-puck/ lightweight flywheel, and I haven't noticed any rollover noise (standard idle speed). Maybe it is obscured by the exhaust note (SS/Magnum)?

Dave
it only makes itself heard when the car is hot. Example, you have been slogging in rushour traffic for 30 minutes in 100 degree heat.
