Lakeshore Tire and Wheel Opinion

After searching, its been awhile since I've seen a post on these guys. Several people seemed to have good expereince with them, but member acwu clearly did not.

Does anyone have any recent expereince with them? Reputable place to buy tires/wheels? I think i'm going with the M parallels on Dunlop Winter Sport M3s. Thanks.

Yes, on Dunlop Wintersport M2's. I've always loved the M parallels too. I actually look forward to putting them on for the winter.

I bought RS6 replicas from Lakeshore a couple of years ago for my A6. My experience was positive - good communication and pricing. I'd recommend them.

What kind and size of tires did you get with your setup?

I bought the stock M5 replicas from them and was very disappointed with the finish (paint runs!). I sent them back as defective, paid the return shipping, and was charged a 20% restocking fee. The credit card company had to intervene to get my full credit after Lakeshore would not return my calls. I won't deal with them again because I don't think customer satisfaction is their goal.

I ended up buying wheels from BMW Wheels (www.bmwwheels.com) and I am much happier. Of course, they were more money. I was told that the replicas would look exactly like the stock wheels. They were the same shape and color, but the finish was junk. I don't think that qualifies for "exactly the same". Not quite as good would be ok, but paint runs? When I did talk with Lakeshore they said that different people have different expectations. Of course, but I don't think anyone expects paint runs on new wheels! Bottom line, they took their profit in my 20% restocking fee and left me with nothing. Luckily the credit card company agreed with me and refunded my money.
