Bay Area M5'ers, ALMS at Laguna Seca Sept. 9th

The ALMS series is coming to Laguna Seca on Sept. 9th. Anyone interested in going to watch the M3's lap the Porsche's again, sorry Greg.

I'm sure that the BMWCCA will have a corral and tent as they did at Sears Point. Remember, getting there was half the fun. We do need our official photographer Don Louv to capture all attractions.

I'd love to go. Not sure yet, but in preparation:

1) How to get tickets?

2) How to get into the corral?

I've already purchased my ticket! I was just waiting a few days to start this thread!

Get tickets at www.laguna-seca.com. You must order tickets TODAY before 5pm to get them in the mail!

I'll be there, Fred. With a long lens!

I'm going to be on vacation the week before, so I won't be able to read about the preparations to drive down there until late Saturday night, before the race. If you all want to take the coastal route down there, I'll meet you in Santa Cruz as you come off of highway 17. Try to behave on 17. It's pretty heavily patrolled these days.

Too bad you won't be there Dan. It seems like everything in the world is happening that weekend.

I haven't seen anything about a corral. I did get a "BMW Voucher" postcard in the mail. It gets me $20 off any general admission ticket. Anyone else get that postcard?

I just sent Keith Wollenberg, VP from the GGC and E28 M5 owner, an e-mail to see about the BMWCCA's level of participation. I'll let you know what I hear.

The Sacramento Chapter sponsored the SPIR tent/corral, the did send out a card in the mail and had the event listed on their site.

Of course, we will plan on driving down together. We can coordinate through e-mail as we get closer. There will be another group of BMW's leaving the south bay at 7AM.

Ken,

Here are the details to the other group leaving at 7 am. I found it on the bimmer.org site.

7am departure - other BMW group

Meeting at 7am
Apple Computer's Infinite Loop Campus at 280 and De Anza Blvd.
Apple
1 Infinite Loop
Cupertino, CA 95014-2083

Should we meet up with them? Could be a fun drive.

Fred:

Personally, I would prefer to keep it limited to our M5 group. They will probably have 30-40 BMW's, all models. We are probably safer with a smaller group as we already attract way too much attention. Plus, we are a bit bolder than the average BMW driver.

I am always fearful of posting starting points on the web for all to see.
