I recently bought a pair of plastic car ramps from Pep Boys. I was unsuccesful getting the car on them because the front wheels kept pushing the ramps backwards. I have a concrete garage floor. I tried putting a rug underneeth the ramps with no luck.
Any suggestions of what works for you would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

I had to put a one foot long 2" thick x 12" wide piece of wood in front of the tire before the ramp to to get the tires a head start up the ramp. This kept the front spoiler from pushing the ramps. Check to see if your spoiler hits the ramps before the tires do.

If your garage has an inclined driveway (sloping DOWN from the garage), you might try this. Back the car into the garage, then place the ramps on the inclined driveway. Drive onto the ramps. This gives you more clearance, and driveways are usually less slippery than the garage floor. Also, because the driveway is inclined and drops away from the elevated car on the ramps, you gain a few more inches of work room, too. Someone on the M3 Forum told me this. I haven't tried it yet myself but it makes sense.

"Is it the sounds that make a BMW a BMW? A BMW is designed to be heard, felt, experienced. So our engines sing. Our steering talks back. And we insist on offering manual transmissions in nearly all our models for drivers who crave them. The result is an almost telepathic oneness with the car. Just as surely as you can hear a BMW, a BMW hears you."
Bought the same ones and had the same problem. Here is what I did:
Go to Home Depot/Lowes type stores and buy a large rubber mat, like the ones you see at the enterance to stores (I think it's 4' x 6'). You can place the ramps on there and they will not slip AND you have a water/oil/liquid proof mat that will catch any spills and make sure your garage stays clean! Works great!
Man, one would think they could design these a little better.
The combination of wood planks on the bottom of the ramp and GRIP tape taped on the bottom of the ramps worked for me. But before that, it looked like a BMW rockcrawling event in my garage!

I have the same problem and someone suggested the rubber mat as well. I think I'll try it.
I have the same ramps and i Lagged right into the Garage floor.
I measured so that when the front tires are on the ramp, the rear clears the garage door by 6". so, if you want to close the door with car on ramps you can, as well as not giving up much space.
I used a 1/2" cement drill and corresponding lagg bolt and secured the ramps. I have 13mm bolts that i use to tighten and loosen.
It's a astetically clean when ramps are not used, and still allows me to spray off garage floor...

Same problem! I thought that it was b/c my garage floor is epoxy sealed. I moved them out to the driveway where the concrete is 'rougher' and they worked fine.
Thanks for the advice, definitely better to work in the garage!
