UNOCAL 100 has no ethanol.

I talked with Unocal racing products technician again today.
He confirmed the the 100 octane gas is formulated with NO ethanol at all. It contains 2.7% oxygen by weight, and 15% MTBE, but no ethanol. The AKI is 100.

He confirmed to me that the power difference, once octane requirements are satisfied, come from a FASTER, not slower,
burning mixture. This is reflected in what he referred to as the distillation point of the fuel. The faster burning mixture exerts more force in a given period of time. Again, UNOCAL 100 burns faster than the lower grades available at the pump. He said that UNOCAL has no plans of discontinuing this fuel as a product, and is fully compatible with the fuel specs. given by BMW.
