I just bought my beast! Pics & Video of her very first drive home inside!

-2001
-35,398 miles at pickup
-Jet Black/Black
-Extended leather - suede headliner
-Sport seats
-Fold down rear seats
-Sunshades
-Aluminum Trim
-Parking Distance Control
-Freshly repainted front bumper with 2yr warrantee

I love this car! I have been wanting one for a very long time but just couldn't bring myself to pay the large price tag when they were new. At first I decided to test-drive some 55-60+k mileage cars to save about $10K but they were pretty worn down and had some performance issues. So I decided to look further and up my price. Thank god I did. This car looks like it is 1 year old. I can't find any chips in the paint, the interior is nearly flawless, only the rims show a little smigen of curb rash. The only owner of this vehicle used it as a corporate lease and drove it ~6000 a year. I am truly in love with this car! It has just enough power to be loads of fun, yet not enough to scare me or lose control. I love the V8 sound and torque! I plan to own this car for a very long time.

Here is the video right after I wrote the check and finished the paperwork. I had flown from San Diego to Arizona early Wedneday morning to check out the car in person and possibly write a check. It just happened to be in much better condition than I had hoped...so I drove her home!!!

VIDEO!

Thank you guys! I have been lurking on here for a few months and I started a couple threads with questions. Everyone has been really nice and helpful so far. I can tell that a larger portion of the M5 owners are much more mature than with the M3 crowd. I have been an M3 addict for years and I am glad to finally add the M5 addiction to my arsenal.

I already ordered mods even before I bought this car. I will start out with little touches like SSK, Momo shift knob, blacked out kidney grills...then I will start to move onto the serious stuff.

Congrats - can't beat fresh paint!

Here's a proper opening up on trip back to Houston.

Took delivery last June from AZ as well. West TX goes on *forever*.

Thanks! It is actually way better than you think, but in order to make the file small enough for a decent download, the res isn't that good on the vid you saw.

Here is a link to pics, info and where you can buy it. http://cinemasupplies.stores.yahoo.net/cruisecam.html

It is nice because you don't need a harness bar or cage to mount a camera...everyone has an adjustable headrest in their beast.

The Camera is:

Canon Elura 80
After researching it was the nicest one overall on the market for around $400. Of course now I am sure there are better ones for even less. Nothing special, but good enough for me.

Yeah, it wasn't worth it to go nuts. I was warned in another thread about the drive and the cops. I am pretty proud that I made the entire trip without a ticket! I counted 11 cops!
