BG Fuel Additive

So my car was in the shop because of a dash replacement. I asked the service advisor to take the car for a test drive as I felt it being sluggish. He stated that they drove the car as well as hooked it up to their computer system and found nothing wrong. He stated that I should drop two cans (bottles) of BG 44K Advanced Formula into the car with a fresh tank of gas. I asked him if this would cause any problems with the engine and he said NO, it was totally safe. I need input on whether I should try this or not? And has anyone else tried this product and if so noticed any difference? Thanks

Personally, I don't trust/rely on any gas additives ... never in my life had any gas related problems without it ... and, that's over 1,000,000 miles of driving. I do use Chevron (and now Texaco) as it has Techron (the same additive my BMW dealer sells by the bottle).

Not familiar with it - be sure that it doesnt contain any lead before trying it though.

I have used Techron in all my vehicles. Have never had an issue and have always got good gas mileage and performance!

That's pretty SOP for many dealers. Both of mine recommended additives or used them when emissions were iffy.

I had a 99 M3 that would occasionaly get a little growly on me - I added BG 44k each time and it definitely helped. I have added one can to my Beast and I think it helped it too, although it wasn't as noticeable.

I've heard VERY good things about this product- especially their shop based injector& rail flush process. I would use it down the road a bit.

BG 44K IS Techron! (OR at least the same base chemical.) It is polyether amine. Only, the BG polyether amine is about three times as strong as the Techron you would buy in a bottle. They are both effective products but you might as well buy the BG if you want to see significant results. (If you want to be a bear, be a grizzly!)
