X pipe reduce resonance on Triflo?

Hi gang,

I've settled on the Tri-flo.

Can anyone confirm that the SS X-Pipe can actually reduce resonance/droning? Might as well save on labor and have it installed at the same time.

If so I think this will be a worthy upgrade....any feedback is surely appreciated!!

Thanks,

Up.

I just put the SS X-pipe on last weekend. Car has had Tri-Flows on for six years.

It does not decrease the droning, does not decrease resonation on cold start, and the burbles on deceleration are a good deal louder. It will not gain wife approval ("why is that car of yours so loud? you should have it checked...")

But it sounds AWESOME under acceleration - like pedestrian-head-turning awesome. Still very quiet at idle.

Steve,
Did the car get raspy when you added the X-pipe? That would be unfortunate if by adding the X-pipe, it took away from the V8 rumble and bassy, deep sound at WOT.

No rasp on mine. I love V8s and it sounds like one.

Somewhere on this board a guy from AZ posted a car club video and his car had pretty much the same setup. I heard it and ordered the pipe.

I sent you an email as well, you can disregard.

Can you recall the username of the member/thread? I'd like to hear the B&B/X-pipe combo together.

Thanks.

Say Steve/TurboCarrera - did the x pipe actually increase any droning? I will get it if there is no additional droning. I don't mind the burbling upon decelration, actually I prefer it. Thanks for all of your help.

I would be inclined to say that yes, it did increase the droning.

If the feedback into the cabin is allready there, the x-pipe will not add or detract from it. The only thing that will make any noticable difference is changing the TriFlow.

The real question is, will the B&B + X-pipe sound like this? Or does it require other exhaust modifications to get this sound?

I had this same setup on my czar and it is the best sounding exhaust out there. I can't tell you how many exotic car guys in my area rave about the sound, just do it you won't regret it. The back burble you get will make you grin everytime.
