yeh rahim, you're like albertm, when he had both. what gives man, that's cool to have both. How do you like each? first think i think is cool onthe e55, those power seats with those funky buttons right on the side near the seat belt button, very sporty looking

Hi Rahim, tell us the true. Wich one is faster and funny to drive. I drove an E-55 from MB 2 day test and I can tell...god how this car can run so fast 0-60 being AUTOMATIC??
I never drove automatic car like the E-55 and it was difficult to fill witch one is faster (with premium gas 105 octane).
What I feel is in the beginning 0-35 the E-55 jump faster and this feeling is that car is faster 0-60 but the M-5 is more powerfully fill the G increasing a lot making the sensation that is faster 0-100.
This feeling about E-55 maybe because in the first gear they jump so quickly? I drove only in the city not in Highway and I prefer the M-5 because it's funnier to drive and the comfort and position to drive is much better. Why you have both??
Regards guys..

Wow, thanks for noticing. The E55 can't compare to the M5 in terms of joy (fun) to drive. Although the car is very fast, having a manual transmission makes a huge impact in the performance and feel. The M5 is SLIGHTLY faster than the E55. This says a lot considering the car has less horsepower and an automatic transmission. I drive the E55 when I want to drive fast but don't feel like having to shift.

I'm 22 and will be 23 in December. I'm currenlty "studying" for the LSAT's till school starts on the 23rd of this month. Can't get much "studying" done since I'm addicted to this board.

hey Rahim! I've got both an M5 and E55 and also live in Dallas. What are the odds of that? My wife usually drives the E55 since she likes the more luxury feel to it. Personally I too prefer the drivers feel of the M5 - I think the E55's suspension is too mushy. But in a straight line, just mashing the pedal, that MB is a whole lot of fun. I can't get my wife to race with me to compare the two - maybe we need to meet on the Bush Turnpike. Have you ever gotten a friend and put them side by side?

BTW, have you noticed how weak the E55's sound system is compared to the M Audio? Been thinking about upgrading it, but haven't really pinpointed what's lacking.

Bryan

one point on the E55, check out the torque numbers, I believe it has a little more torque and I wonder about car weight. Also the ability to just mash the accelerator can be a speed advantage for the unsuspecting manual transmission driver. btw- a guy in a CLK 55 tried to hang with my Z8 the other day- he couldnt.....
