I am going through the due diligence phase on a 2002 with 34,000 miles. Service history says Inspection I performed at 33,974. Owner has been changing oil about every 10,000 miles. Should I be concerned about the mileage at which Inspection I was done?

I would have it throughly checked out by a GOOD independent mechanic ... before you decide (thanks Adam).

Inspection I is at 30k roughly- it actually is calculated by the computer and is alledgedly based on liters of fuel used. (Makes more sense than miles).

I have 63k miles and no Inspection II light yet... am I late? Nope. (Have I basically completed all the inspection II items already? Yes...)

The OilService is at 15k intervals, so 10k is good. I prefer 7500.

My Insp I was done mid 30's. I have 56k and I am about due for II (although plugs were done and diff fluid and tranny fluid changed 15k miles ago). I am changing oil at 7.5k for a little extra piece of mind.

Service history seems good, but I would still have the car inspected by a neutral third party wrench! Good Luck on your purchase

dmbgamer, I am guessing he got the inspection done with intent of selling car? Very considerate if you ask me.

Thanks for the responses. I am having the PPI done this morning. If everything goes well, I should be an owner by Friday evening.
