Ugh. When and if they come out with their system for the E60, I'm sure those of us who have been waiting will not be happy.

Did they blame the price of materials, or shipping rates gone up

I know the price of stainless steel has been rising worldwide for some time. A few vendors are just starting to pass on those costs.

However, the wonderful thing about the free market is every supplier is free to raise their prices. The counter to that is I'm free not to buy from them. They've just priced themselves out of contention as far as I'm concerned. Other buyers will see things differently regardless and still purchase the Tubis. We'll just have to wait and see if the demand continues to exceed the supply at this price.

Contact Daniel at BeastPower. Maybe he has some pricing clout with Tubi since he is the largest importer for the E39.

I agree. The one thing that kept the Tubi's in contention as I was thinking of which aftermarket system to get was the fact that the difference in price was "managable". Now, that difference is over $1,000. If I hadn't bought mine at the old price, I would no longer consider the Tubi's at the new one.

I hope they know what they're doing.

this is a limited production niche product. I really doubt anyone who really wants a tubi exhaust would be swayed that much by $600. It's a pretty small market, probably getting smaller as the cars get older, many second, third, fourth etc owners are not necessarily in the market for a 2k exhaust anyway. Look at the number of posts of "i took off my mufflers" or other generic muffler shop exhaust posts. Tubi probably figures it's only going to sell so many more units as is, reduce the supply, tack on a little extra to make it a worthwhile business venture to keep it in production. If you need a tubi, you'll buy it regardless.
