New Beast on Board!

Hey all,

Been lurking around for some time and it is finally time to introduce my new beast. Some of you may know her. I purchased Terk's pristine '03 LMB/LMB back on September 7th.
For Sale Thread: FS: Canadian 2003 M5 - LMB/LMB 24,572km - Garage Queen

I have been a bimmer guy for some time. Past rides '02 330ci and my last well not beast, but a beast in her own right '02 330 Cabrio IR with ASA SC, Supersprint headers, full SS exhaust, brembos, PSS9's and ACS body art. I lost my SC'd 330 in a garage fire at my home on May 5th of this year.
Thread: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=363299

After all was said and done with my insurance settlement I had originally decieded to buy another cabrio (///M3). After searching for sometime, I started leaning towards the ///M5. After window shopping for sometime I decieded to go to a local private dealership and test drive an ///M5. Well what can i say i fell in . I decieded that the ///M5 was going to be my next car. Being as picky as I am, finding a low mileage, well taken care or car would be difficult. Most were located in the US and was prepared to ship it to Canada. I was a bit nervous about track school cars and possible flood damaged cars from Southeastern US. My buddy and fellow m5board member Clem (also former e46er) helped me along as he made the jump to the ///M5 and with his advice the search was on.

When I first contact Terk about the car he was especially helpful and and forwarded me numerous pictures. He scanned and PDF'd the car's service history and emailed it to me. He gave me the ph #'s for his SA and Sales Rep at Overseas Motors in Windsor and when I spoke to them they re-iterated how beautiful this car truly was. I spoke to Terk numerous times on the phone and after some careful negotiations on both sides a deal was struck.

I had arranged to fly out to Windsor from Calgary (6hr flight), where Terk picked me up at the airport in his beautiful X5 (LMB 4.8is) and drove me to his office where the car was parked in his private attached garage. Once again I fell in and knew i had made the right decision. Terk had fully detailed the car including a 4 coat polish with Klasse and Pinnacle Souveran. We drove to the dealership to sign the papers as they facilitated the financial part of the transaction.

My plan was to drive her from Windsor to Toronto where I had shipping arranged with Hansens Forwarding for rail shipping to Calgary. As much as i wanted to I didn't want to drive the 3100kms (2000miles) from Windsor to Toronto. The 450km drive from Windsor to Toronto was the best drive of my life, HWY 401 was the perfect place to get to know the new beast.

I stayed at a hotel not far from the railyard and had her all washed up ready for the pre-shipping inspection in the morning. My new beast also spent her first night outside as i slept at the best western, Terk had never left her out overnight!

She arrived in Calgary on Sept 15th and unfortunately I was out of town on business and she waited till i could pick her up on the 25th. It was the most ********* 17 days of my life after getting a taste of the beast.

I was so disturbed to find that she did not fair so well during the shipping process, there was pitting on the front bumper and hood (also 2 >1" scratches) and a small scratch and dent on the side skirt. I guess it was caused by brake dust and rail debris. I had the estimates done and working on getting the damages fixed by the shipper. Their first offer was a power polish and repaint just the bumper and that is not quite acceptable.

I just wanted to say a special thank you to Terk. Trully a first class guy and a pleasure meeting him. It was somewhat a leap of faith negotiating over the phone, and committing to fly out but i did it purely out of faith and a good connection with a fellow "board" guy. Thanks also to my buddy Clem for all his patience with my questions and insecurities.

Very happy to introduce her and be part of this board, it is a pretty tight group and hope i can contribute.

If you looked at my SC 330, you know I like to mod so here is what is ordered /enroute or sitting in my living room:

- Supersprint Exhaust 90mm tips
- Supersprint X-Pipe
- UUC Evo 3 with DSSR
- 19" BBS LM's 8.5 / 10
- 255 / 285 Toyo T1R's
- Prolumen HID Fogs
- Predator ICE Angel Eye Upgrade
- Bimmian Matte Black Grill Inserts
- OEM Gen 9 Bluetooth (m5board GB)
- XM Commander Sat Radio
- Rad Wheel Locks
- Strong Strut Tower brace (black w/holes)
- IAT Relocate
- Sink Mod with AFE dryflows, 540 brake ducts
- TDC Swaybar Bracket
- RE Tranny Mounts
- DA Street SW

Another thank you to Sean at D/A and Rob Leach at Tunerworks here in Calgary and Daniel at Beastpower.

Omar.

Glad you're happy with her Omar. Even happier I could sway you away from the "baby ///M"

Sucks about the shipping damage but knowing you, you'll have her back and better than ever.

Congrats on the new beast and enjoy

Omar,

I'm glad you have finally been re-united with the Beast but it is truly sad that she did not make the trip without incident. I hope you can work out the details and have her back in pristine condition soon.

It was great to meet you and although I truly miss my M5, I am glad that a fellow ///M enthusiast will get to enjoy her as much as I did.

Enjoy, stay in touch and keep her out of the snow please

Thanks for all the kind words.
T.
