advice on selling the beast

i was about to make a huge move today. i stopped by the mitsubishi dealer and almost bought a lancer evo. they were asking 37k they were going to give me 25,500 for mine its a 2001 with 81k miles. it has a kelleners and stoptechs in the front. i would have made the transaction but we couldn't agree on the rate.
they were trying to get me to sign for a 16.5 rate and i have an average score of 627 so i dont know if this is right but i never miss any payments ever and i thought the rate was way to high. let me know if this is normal or not. i was thiking even with a 627 fico i should be closer to 10 percent. he said he was going to keep shopping for a better rate and he will call me tommorow. if anyone wants a nice m5 for better than they are offering let me know im in florida this week looking to sell it. if i cant of course i will keep it no big deal.

my 500'th post too im sad.

Ran the numbers.

With the figures you just posted, assuming a five year note, you would pay about $5500 in interest on just a $11,500 balance. That's about 50% of the amount of the loan in the first place. Then of course you have to add in sales tax if they apply in your state.

Keep the M5 and tell them to take a hike, a very long hike.

my car cost too much to keep running. its going to need a clutch soon and the ses problem i am having is enough to make me throw in the towel. the milage is up there too and i drive way too much.
i need a car that is trouble free. i cant take it anymore sorry guys. i have had the car since february and i have spent about 7k on parts and repairs on it already and its going to need about another 2500 to get it back to normal. so i am willing to let it go for cheap i know you guys all hate me but your cars run good i bet.

I got my '00 USED Beast.....60 months for 7.2%... 16 is INSANE territory. Keep the best, I just SMOKED a lancer today...... (literally, had an oil leak, on the way to drop it off....smoking like a MACK truck) He could not keep up...(we hit 130 S/B 15).....KEEP IT....in two years the ricer will have lost half it's value !......btw, I cannot stress ENOUGH...at 25K keep it, they are STEALING it from you, then robbing you on the other end of the "deal"....I hate car dealers....your car is worth 35 (well thats allways up for interpretation).....personally I think you'd be making a BAD deal if you traded straight across.

IF you really want just "trouble" free....get a NICE E39 530 '03 with superlow miles..(lease return CPO) they give GREAT rates on those, and you are more likely to give you a fair deal on your M5. I assume the 7K includes optional stuff like brakes and exhaust, which is not really fair in cost comparison.

First of all, you're nuts.:p However, just for laughs, when salesdude calls you back (and he *will*), I'd tell him the best I can do is 3.9%.

im not really hearing about value. as far as the m5 goes i bought it in february for 33k and that was a steal then and now i would be lucky to get 28k for it so this car is no different than any other car. at least it seems to me, im loosing money every day.
