Clutch Issue Query

I have been in Florida for the past week and will not return until next week sometime so my brother borrowed the Beast (Yes guys, the same one who got into that mishap during the NY meet awhile back with the 996TT) Anyway, car dies on him..towed to nearest dealer (ironically the one tha did my Dinan upgrade) Anyway, was told that the cltuch is gone at 35K miles.

The mechanic told me not to worry it was covered under warranty; however in a conversation with him late today he told me that he would have to contact BMWNA because the warranty only covers normal wear and tear. Well, I received a message on my cell too late informing me that he did contact BMWNA, but he did not tell me if the repairs (approx $1500) were covered so I am imagining he is going to say no.

We've discussed the clutch issue before. Has anyone gotten anywhere with this in having BMWNA cover the replacement? Should I tow it to my dealer where I've just gotten 3 BMW's in the last year? Could the dealer decide to cover it?

Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Hi Dante,

I just went through the similar scenario. Check my post.
In a nutshell, BMW NA does not cover the clutches! Their stand is that there is nothing wrong with it, BUT . . . like in my case, the dealer can try to talk their regional rep into covering it (since you are a loyal BMW customer and they want you to come back) or the dealership might decide to pay for it!
Feel free to drop me a line with any questions (pjj@pnp-group.com).
