          The Beast Wins Again

In September Car and Driver-the Beast is challenged by an Austalian version of the Cadillac Catera, with a 402hp engine and enhanced suspension. The Beast prevailed, but it was actually closer than you would expect, because of the suspension on the Caddy.
In the same issue, there is a comparo with the 540i and six other expensive sport sedans, and the 540, as old as it is, came out on top. Ditto in a comparison in the September Motor Trend, the 540i prevailed. How do they keep doing it?
Seems like the E39 is one of the classics!

Yes, I have that issue as well. Did you see the interior on the 540i? Cream/White seats and black interior...looked kind of interesting! I am still not sure whether I liked the contrast or not...but it looked kind of cool.
