so what comes with an M5? mobility kit, CD/DVD, etc.

So in dealing with Luxury Motors, what do I need to make sure comes with an M5? I need to make sure now as I don't want to rely on a "oh we'll take care of that...as I have read the previous postings."

I want all the kit.

--

complete CD/DVD nav media

mobility kit

floormats

how many different manuals?
owners manual
etc.

anything else?

Thanks so much.

Others might chime in, but in my car the owners manual and other informational materials (such as demo CD for the sound system) are contained in a zip up BMW 'folder' that looks like a standard leather planner. This should be in the glove box. (It takes up most of the space in the glove box unfortunately.) Some would argue that the mobility kit is useless, but you might check to make sure it is not expired. I think the kit has a shelf life of three years. (BTW, as an e39 M5 owner, you will have BMW roadside assistance in the event of a flat). I'm not sure about floor mats. I have the winter package and just use my ugly rubber ones year around. Maybe one day I'll get around to putting in some snazzy ones...

Also, there should be 4 keys - 2 remote keys, 1 standard key, and 1 wallet key made of plastic.

Be sure to get all of that in writing

I just recently purchased an M5, about 1 week ago from them, at the Ohare store. They snatched the nav cd from a range rover and some floor mats from a 540i. My didn't come with a cd changer which I didn't noticed until I had signed and had a very difficult time getting them to get me one. I was going to give them an additional $1000 for the down payment but they can kiss that good bye. Be very careful with those people. Also make sure you have all the tools in the trunk.

I found and ordered the owner's manual on eBay. You can get the PDF version for about $5, or the full deal for (what was it? $165?). I had been promised the manual and the tools for the trunk by the "$tealer", but promises aren't always important once your wire transfer clears...

Still looking for the tools and warning triangle. Haven't checked mobility expiration yet.

Sorry to tell you after you paid for it, but you can download the Owner's Manual for FREE from BMW NA. I prefer my PDF version to the paper one, anyway!

No warning trangle if the car is a US car. Also, no lug wrench comes with the car and no First Aid kit if it is a US car.

I would highly recommend the NAV manual which can't be downloaded from BMW NA.

I like your signature quote. I figured that there might be a free place to get the PDF, but I really wanted the original manual for the car. Without it, it's like I'm driving around with a piece missing. I previously purchased the first aid kit too, and I have heard about the triangle not being supplied; but it's still cool to have, I think.

I agree about the triangle ... I actually have a couple obtained from new European delivery cars purchased by a dealer (for resale as new, which technically they were) I worked for in the 90s (illegal for a dealer to do, by the way), BUT they are TOO LARGE to fit in the M5 tool kit ... I know, as I tried them.

Thanks for the comment on my sig ... I live that comment every day of my life!

make sure your car has a 6 disc cd changer in the trunk, lots of dealers remove them, only to sell it back to you. It was standard equipment in the M5, so should be present.
The dealer i bought my M5 from tried to sell me on, until i mentioned that it was a standard part, and how could a cpo car be missing a standard part...
