Two Tone Interior Seats Question....?

question for all you M5 owners > so im looking to buy a e39 carbon black with low miles and my ideal interior color is all black with aluminum trim. i found one but it has the Two Tone Interior Seats - (Black Nappa Point leather/Nappa Leather, Silverstone) so my question is...does any one know how difficult it is to replace the seats and the side panels to all black...? would it be more cost effective to go to a leather shop and have them replace the silver areas only...? or is this just going to be a headache ? my second question is > if i found someone who had the full black interior who wanted the silver-2tone would it be easy to swap the seats out and the side trim....? would anyone be intersted in trading...? this car is pretty much brand new - has 4000 miles on it > so the interior is perfect > thanks for any advice >

regards

justin

I think it wouldn't be too tough to do, but I would suggest you wait awhile before you decide to switch. You may get used to the combination in short order.

Yeah, two-tone is gorgeous. Give it a little time. It's definitely unique. Everyone loves all black, so try something different. The hassle and cost of the job outweigh it anyway, unless you really want all black.

Agree....I have the sporty Blk/Red int. combo with the Silver trim. At first I thought it was too bold...now I would not trade it for any other combo. I think it sets your car apart from the norm and lets people know that the M5 is not your normal 5 series sedan!

Make sure that ultralow mileage car was NOT a BMW owned Driving School beater. If it wasn't sold to an individual within a few months of arrival in the US, something is up. Carfax, BMW service records.

I concur with everyone here... wait until you get used to it before you think about changing it.. I got extended nappa caramel with my car. I was not wild about it in the beginning, now its the only colour I would order.... I love it.

Interesting how things can grow on you. I'm not a fan of the two tone myself but once you make something personal and surround yourself with it, it's not unreasonable to then change your point of view.

Is it starting to seem odd to you guys that there are a number of 3 yo M5s with approx 5k on them appearing at this time? My thought, as with Ard, is that they are ex-driving school. Just suspicious I guess.
Colour combo is perfect though, same as my carbon black beauty.
