I was very fortunate to get a MAF replaced under warranty thanks to the Peake code reader and some 02 sensor faults.
I thought I would go ahead and do the other one at the same time, just for the sake of uniformity and out of a sense of curiousity as to if it would make an appreciable difference. I gave the SA the go-ahead, and he talked me out of it. OEM MAF in Australia circa A$800.
Very please to have found an honest one. Mark one up for the good guys.

Yeah, there are a few of 'm out there. A bottle of booze around Christmas doesn't hurt either...
Good for you... but ya, Australia is a bit far to take my car for service :-)

Thanks Aaron. Will probably stick with OEM when I have to replace the second one just to keep it 'symmetrical'. There have been some reports of fault codes post VW MAF. Very familiar with getting stuff flown over the Pacific.

Mate... I'm all for paying BMW the $$ when it needs to be done.. but there is nothing to worry about !!.. I have (as many do) a set in my car and they are perfect. You would probably find that the fault codes are being reported on other parts down the line now that the MAFS are working properly.
I.E your MAFS are now working properly so the O2 sensors start sending values out of their allowable range and throw a code.
If I had a spare set ( I keep meaning to order them ) I would sent you a set to try.
I would not replace one at a time anyway as they are sort of a wear and tear item... I would only replace them as a pair, but then again I am only paying AUD$200 for the set so its easier than paying $800 EACH
