evosport and discovery automotive both carry these, and are sponsors. Check the for sale section first, just in case... Get the x pipe too, otherwise the ss mufflers are pretty quiet.

Yeah, I agree, nothing wrong with Supersprint mufflers, they are great quality in my opinion and look great...but if you are getting just the mufflers, don't expect much sound change, actually hardly any change in sound, just very slightly deeper. You can always add the x-pipe later if you want more rumble, but just giving you the heads up on that. ;)

I have the SS Magnums with SS X-pipe. Like Mottati said, definitely get the SS X-pipe. The SS Magnums are fairly quiet but they are louder than stock. The X-pipe gives a little more sound but not too much. I woud only go with this setup if you want one of the quieter aftermarket exhausts. If you are looking for a loud exhaust I would look at Britalman, Kelleners, or Eisenmann.

I looked around quite extensively when I bought mine and found Turner Motorsport (a sponsor here) to have the lowest price for the mufflers and Beastpower for the X-pipe. If you can buy them from another board member, that would save you some money. Good luck...

Like Doug I was thinking the same. I've regularly heard that the supersprint and stock x-pipe is very tame sounding.

I would like the idea of the supersprint race because of the significant weight savings as well as probably a good, decently loud exhaust whilst keeping the stock x-pipe.

Also, stupid question since exhaust is being spoken of. If I want to install just the mufflers, do the stock ones bolt off? Or will I have to cut things?

Well, I can tell you that the SS street boxes sound *anything* but tame. They sound like a proper German v-8 muscle-car ought to... deep rumble, pops and burbles a bit when you let of the gas. It's a great setup.

What I dislike is the oversized tips. There's so little clearance between them and the valence is that it's a pain to clean or polish. The race cans have better flow, smaller tips (same dia as stock), but might be too lound for the street.

Huh? I thought you wanted to save weight (and an exhaust note that wasn't "tame")? You need to ditch the stock resonators. They weigh a ton. The x-pipe is the way to go IMO. The stock muffler/resonator assembly is one giant piece so the stock cans don't unbolt. The SS cans are designed to slip over the x-pipe, and require a cut just aft of the cats.

I didnt realize the stock resonator/x-pipe assembly was one piece. It would be better to replace the whole thing then obviously.

Thanks!
