Joining the club after 6 years! (Long)

The wait was killing me. i have bin lurking here sinds 2000!

In 2000 i bought an `96 E39 528i and started to mod it

-18 BBS RS2
-Eibach/bilstein supsension
-ACS SSK
-Infinity Basslink
-Full retrofit OEM BMW NAV
-Oem M5 mirrors
-Custom Exhaust
-Chip
-Xenon angel eyes
-Oem front spoiler

I was really enjoying this car.. until on one day in 2004 i was caught speeding. 120+ km/h in 50km/h zone. Yes it was stupid. but it was on a bridge with armcor.. Not knowing undercover police started following me for the last 3 km because i was on my cellphone.

They took my driving license, and they decided too leave my car on the road.
After taking my to the policestation too handle the paperwork.
I rang up my friend too pick my car up.

Then the story to My E39 M5 begins...
A few minutes after dropping him he is on the phone..
PLEASE COME BACK! i have an accident.. I tell him. Stop F&^&^%&&^.
I can`t have this right now! I hear people saying to him please sit down.
then i knew it was serious. Car was totaled against a lightpole, on the same road where i was chaught speeding. when i arrived i could not belive my eyes!

I see my friend next to the car, i rushed too him and asked if he was ok!
He was, just a few bruses, he was not wearing his seatbeld!
What happend? racing??? whitneses where saying he was not racing!
The car was sitting in the sun for a few hours, so he opened the findows too let the hot air out, i do have AC. en the all of the sudden a bee flew right in.
He tries to get it out, not paying attetion to the road, being in a slight curve, he hits the sidewalk in the middle of the road and lost controle hitting a lightpole. the car was on the side. totalled.

My friend was ok, that`s what importend.
I changed the insurrance on the car just 2 months before. so no money from them.
I got my license back after 3 days, because i needed it to do my job.

That was the saddest day in my life!
I dove an vw caddy 1.9 SDI for the next 2 years! this is an van with 55hp

that year i almost pulled the trigger on an 2000 M5, i have started too collect mods for the M5, but i also bought an house. So the car just had too wait.

So i promised that i would never drive an E39 M5 again until i own one!
The mods i bought for the car that is collected in the 2 years.
Now how is that for commitment to the E39 M5!

- vmax module from kellenners (used)
- 6 puck Sachs race clutch (new)
- Eisenmann race exhaust (NEW)
- ACS E39 M5 SSK (used)

And last Saterday i picked up an 2002 M5 Individual Scarabgreen with full green leather. and it all ready had the Eisenmann race and Vmax module.
So if there are Dutch E39 M5 looking for Exhaust en Vmax module please PM me

It has every option u can think off, except for double glazing and the fridge that STVWEB retofitted!

I was really looking for that special one! there are a lot of M5 on mobile.de
But i found this on a german M forum. and that gave me a good feeling about it.

I`m having a real blast these past few days, and i can`t belive that i own one!

Sorry for the long post, but i had to tell the hole story.

A wise man once said " Great things come to those who wait"

Great write-up, your passion for the e39 M5 really shows. Sorry to hear about the previous 5 as it sure looked a nice car also good to hear your friend walked away unscathed.

Scarabgreen really does look a great colour on the Beast, a truly worthwhile wait and intro to Beast-dom.

Enjoy your car and be sure to keep us posted on progress.

Safe driving.

C.

Joxer,

Thanks for sharing your story. Your individual color is very sharp... like carbon black, it seems to change with the viewing angle and lighting. As an owner of a rare color, I can say it is fun having a color that few others have (or in your case, perhaps no one else!). Congrats...she's a beaut...and welcome to the club at long last!

Dave
