Nav/OBC new behavior? Wakes up to Menu - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

I don't think I'm imagining this...

About a week ago, my OBC/Nav system rebooted itself and lost all of the settings: date, time, consump data, etc. (but not DSP settings)

Since then, every time I turn the car on, the video display starts up at the Menu screen. I swear it used to remember what I was last looking at when the car was turned off. (e.g. if I had the radio/OBC displayed when I shut the car off, then that was what showed on the screen when I turned the ignition back on)

Has anyone else experienced this?

Should I go to my local dealer and have them reinstall the latest software? (the version I have, according to the "Set" screen, ends in "60"... I forget the rest of the numers/letters/glyphs...)

What's the latest software that folks have?

Thanks in advance for confirming or negating my sanity...

When I turn my car on, the screen always shows the radio screen, regardless of where it was set to when I last switched it off. I find this irritating, see post below on gps, eg I want it to show the nav screen if that was where I had it set when I turned the engine off. Mine is Feb '01 build

yes, I think you are correct, it did used to come up in the radio. I liked that, except when I was using the GPS and stopped along the way.

But now it is waking up to the Menu screen.

I've heard of this problem, the resolution is to visit your local authorized BMW service center and have them reinstall the latest software.
