A few new interior modifications...Photos!

Hey, just thought I would share a few new interior photos of my M5. I decided to get rid of my factory cupholders and just use the Ultimate Cupholders that sit on the carpet down by the center console. I installed a silver painted trim piece in the spot where the cupholders used to be, matching my other silver painted trim.

I also ordered two different custom floor mat plates from Ultimate Pedals. One is for the drivers side and functions as a heal guard plate, so no more heal marks and worn out floor mats in that area. The other piece is a passenger side foot rest installed at an angle.

I also added a painted silver trim piece around the navigation screen to match the other silver trim.

Yes, I know I'm nuts. :hihi:

This is a little over the top, but come on, the modifications must keep coming right? Must feed the addiction and continue with the technical black and silver aluminum look! :haha:

Which pieces would you remove...if any?

Let me know what you think!

I think I would remove the mats with the plates. Although a great idea, and maybe the pictures don't do it justice? For me it just brings a lot of attention to the floor mats, which I just like to blend in.

I think it's well done and very tasteful. The only thing that stood out to me, since you asked, would be the lower steering wheel trim. It doesn't quite seem to fit in with the "flow" of the rest of the interior. I like the subtle but nicely done silver trim elsewhere.

Looking good but it would look even better IMHO without the silver lower steering wheel trim and the metal floor mats.

Nice job, I like it. The driver's side floormat is functional, preventing wear&tear on the vulnerable heal area, but the passenger side is, well, let's just say that the pretty girls prefer nice soft carpet on their (bare) feet :)

You are a madman!

Looks nice. Where did you get the piece to put over the original cupholders?

Also, I'm thinking again about buying your titanium trim pieces if you still have them.

Did you make it to the track yesterday??

Looking nice. I really like the driver side plate, but I am debating if I like the passenger one or not. I like the cupholder mod, where did you get the piece? I think a black one would look nice in my car because I never use those crappy cupholders anyway. Did you get new floormats with the heelpad and cover it up with the metal?

He didn't make it to the track. We got some runs in between the rain but the bottom finally fell out on us.

Yeah...sorry I didn't make it to the track...I was stuck at work. :grrrrr:

The trim piece in place of the cupholders is a BMW part...I don't have the part number handy, but just give Brandon a call at the Global Imports parts counter and he will hook you up.

As for the plates on the mats...they are custom made from Ultimate Pedals...about $100 each. I bought a new set of M5 floor mats and measured the OEM drivers side built in heal pad...I then had Ultimate Pedals custom make the plate so that it is the same size as the OEM heal pad and installed the new aluminum plate right over it. The passenger side is a custom sized piece too...I basically just decided what size I wanted over there, measured, and had them make it.

Thanks for the comments! :)

A little shiny for my taste, but very well done. Looks very good on a silver car!

I do like your mods, Garrett, perhaps with some reservation on the floormats. A bit too shiney for my taste, and also would be slippery IMO in the rain/winter, no?

Is the steering wheel trim exact match with the brushed aluminum trim? I've heard people complain that the ordered one but the shade was slightly off relative to the rest of the trim around the cabin.

To answer your questions...all of the interior trims are painted titanium silver, including the steering wheel trim.

The drivers side floor mat plate is a non slip finish with grooves and really works well in terms of not being slippery.

The passenger side is really just a foot rest and has a smooth finish (no grippy grooves).
