Paint work

Well...I got tired of having a front license plate (previous owner drilled 4 holes into the bumper ), so I decided to get it fixed. I then took a marker and went nuts...circling every little nick/chip I could find. I'll be doing the complete front & back bumpers, and the whole hood...plus everything else I circled. No idea what this will cost, or how long it will take. Gonna suck not having her around though. (Toyota Tundra just ain't gonna fill in the slack.)

May not be as bad as you think. Its easy to fix holes and small cracks with a relatively new "welding" process - saves the cost of a new bumper cover. Paint is a lot cheaper than covers....

funny, my car is at the body shop right now getting some hail damage fixed as well as getting the front bumper/hood repainted due to various rock chips... I'm spending between $2-2.5k when everything's said and done, so good luck...

I paid around $2600 for a full strip down of the front bumper and hood, repaint, plus blending on the fenders and behind the front wheels and also repainting the rear bumper. It was done at a premium shop and the results were premium...she looks brand new. Get a clear bra installed after the new paint has had time to settle in.

I am doing the same hood, front/rear bumpers, and blend for about $2K...hate being without the beast though. My wife thinks i am nuts as she finds nothing wrong with it in the first place...they just don't get it.

Yep. I'm probably the only one on the planet that would ever notice 90% of what I'm having "fixed."

The shop I use is in my barter group (ITEX), so my actual out-of-pocket expense will be about 1/4th of what anyone else would pay. If I was paying full price the wife would probably kill the deal.
