My car just turned 12,000 miles on the clock......

I'd like your opinions on what a blower will or will not do (damage) due to the minimal mileage on the engine. Do you think my motor is broken in enough to handle the monster power of Dinan's supercharger system, or is my engine still more on the virgin side???
TIA

Are you familiar with endurance racing in the desert; the most grueling test of car and driver?? The owner of AGA builds and drives race cars for the Baja 500 and 1000. He races in the class just below "unlimited". He pulled an S62 motor out of a wrecked M5 with 15k miles on the clock. He never touched the engine internals or heads. Simply put full race intake and headers on, then remapped the ECU for MAX power. This car/engine has been campaigned in 5 races, running 9 to 16 straight hours at 7000 rpm in each one, with only brief, engine running stops for fuel or driver change. He places high or wins his class.

After each race, he returns to his shop and does a leakdown test. No more than 8% in any cylinder. Unbelievable. He's been a master mechanic on German cars for 25 years. He says the bottom end of an S62 motor is THE most robust and "bullet proof" he has ever known. It's just one man's experience based opinion; but he should know.

If you'd like to talk to him directly (by the way, he's Dinan's largest dealer in SoCal), PM me and I'll give you his phone #. 'Also suggest you talk to Dinan directly about your very valid question. While they give you a guaranty on the S3 components, that DOES NOT extend to anything else that might break.

Good luck. I'm excited for you!!
