OEM shigter rubber boot replacement

Hi, i had a quick questions... I cant afford the short shifter kits that are out on market right now so I oppted to buy a replecement plastic boot to get rid of some of the sloppyness from my shifter... anyways before I tear into the car I was wondering, do I need any special tools of some sort to disassemble the shifter and replace the boots and rubber bearing? Im a shade tree mechanic I can do basic overhauls but Im not sure if theres any dealer specific tools that are required... I dont want to tear apart the interior and find out I need to wait and order more tools lol..

thanks in advance.

All hand tools. I think I did a total UUC install, including removing the stock shifter and selector and installing the new with a flat blade screwdriver, allen wrench and plier.

That said, you will likely not find a worn "plastic boot"... just a bunch of 'less than optimally precise' parts.

Check it out- worth an hour to see what the parts look like.
