the beast is back!!!pls. read...

After a week of wait the beast now sits safely in the garage afraid to bring it out unless it has the clear bra , recap: awhile back i had paint issues on the hood which really got me concern as im anal about the m5. i started a thread and got pretty mix response regarding the paint defect and the possibility that bmwna or the dealership might not covering it, so i contacted my sales agent mark rubin and he got me in touch with mark brodkin from south bay bmw and right then and then he said he'll take care of it and no need to worry about it. Now im thinking sounds too good to be true right! but it was true mark brodkin called me and said he had set an appointment with advanced collision technoligies, now i have heard good things about this shop from other bmw enthusiast but would like to see it myself and last wednesday mark brodkin accompanied me and brought the beast in and met ryan mcbride (a bmw enthusiast too) from advanced collision technologies, he gave me a tour of their facility and i was blown away with how meticulous and upto german standards their work is... from the latest technology in body works down to paint which comes from germany as well. Just picked up the car today the quality and color matching was bar none ryan mcbride even surprised me by fixing the small dent and ding which isn't part of the job (made me even happier). So now im happy that i got the beast back in his best conditon and would like to thank mark rubin and mark brodkin from south bay bmw and ryan mcbride from advance collision technologies because these people deserve it period!...This is just to remind us that its not always a sad/bad ending when dealing with the dealership and body shop...thanks for reading this post...
now mods coming soon...

good deal. congrats man!

think you need to let the paint set for at least a month(?) before putting clear bra.

i had my front bumper and hood repainted too because of rock chips. i thought about putting a clear bra but didn't act on it. now it's accumulating many a rock chips again. and i don't even tailgate. wished i had done the clear bra.

In this months Popular Mechanics they're advertising some stuff called "Dupli Color Temporary Spray on Bra Protection" www.duplicolor.com.

I have no affiliation with the company at all and know nothing of their products, but it looks like interesting stuff - the only problem is, that I don't feel like testing it out on my paint job.
