What a great conglomeration of car pr0n and historic European scenery - thumbs up from all of us across the pond who love travel as much (almost) as ///M cars, and would love to have the opportunity for such a trip.
I'm trying to think of original questions/comments to add to this, one of the most enjoyable posts I have ever read on a forum, car-related or otherwise.
Blue Thunder:
1)You are a big fan of
this Movie/TV show?
2)How did the beast + wide summer tires handle the unexpected inclement weather in Germany? Did you just have to keep you speed below XXX Kph?
3)Having experienced both the heavy car/high power, and light car/low power, which is more fun overall at the Ring (not allowed to say light car / high power)?
4)Is it just me or did the hotel mechanic jacking up your car from one side remind you of
this internet pic?
5)Any audio of the Carrera GT's sweet cacophony you described several times?
6)This is my favorite quote, it cracks me up every time I read it. I picture him screaming with a maniacal grin on his face:
"the driver, knocks on his leg and screams over the engine noise "I only have one leg!!!" Then he laughs like crazy"
7)And last but not least, OMG, how did Sabine's hair smell, she is so uber-hot???!!!!111
(j/k about that last one)
Other board members:
A)Has anyone ferried their personal car over to Europe for such an extended road trip, and how much would such a service cost ($2-3k)? I imagine it would be expensive, but to have the freedom of travel to many different countries without relying on bus/train/plane schedules, plus the sheer enjoyment/experience of your own car on the great roads, the Ring, and scaring the crap out of some diesel-driving euro friends when you take them for a spin...
B)911s are the new womens' cars?? I always read they were the ultimate "affordable supercar", with so much racing pedigree and "reliable as a wood burning stove"? Should us young guys be aspiring to afford z06s instead of GT3s? Anybody on here have driving/ownership experience with both cars?
//sorry for the long reply, and thanks again for this post! What would us poor unemployed car guys do all day if it wasn't for M5board.com? I don't see how people get any "real life" work done with the amount of great posts/info on here.
