Drive shaft poped ouit ???!!!

Ayup peeps, this one sounded a bit fishy.

2 weeks she was in BMW Kentish town, North London. Loads of things, bits and bods. Bloody expensive but convenient location. Part of the work was fixing rear anti roll bar brackets and rear suspension ball joints, rear disks & pads. This resulted in a complete back end realignment.

Picked the car up last night.

Zero mileage, zero petrol. hhmm ok, overlook it and gently ease her to the nearest petrol station. Gentle as hell, conserve petrol and new brakes,

Less than 1 mile away.

Stationary traffic. Went to pull away, nothing. Engine made al the write noises, no drive ??? !!!!

Clutch pressure good bla ba.. WTF ?

AA man dropped the car write smack bang back in front of their door. Couldn't miss her.

Today. "It seems the drive shaft had popped out sir, no damage done"

WTF ???

Didn't even get an apology when I picked the car up.

I'm not very good at the Queen's English but from what I understood of your post, none of the repairs you had done requires the removal of the drive shaft. Also, just where did the drive shaft "pop out" of? The back at the tranmission? The center support? The differential? Wierd.

No it doesn't. I can't even imagine a drive shaft "popping out"...of anywhere. I was wondering if they were BSing our friend.

So they managed to cause the driveshaft to pop out while you were driving the car? THAT tells me to call them and demand all of the work you had done free of charge. Driveshaft popping out is a serious issue, whether or not it caused any damage. Imagine if that happened at freeway speeds...

That was my point: "fixing rear anti roll bar brackets and rear suspension ball joints, rear disks & pads."

1) The mentioned repairs would not entail removal of the driveshaft, or anything even remotely close to the driveshaft.

2) What was it that really happened?!

Thanks for your replies

Guys, thanks for all your replies.

My delayed response was because I'd forgotten how great a car these are. I've been out driving and had completely forgotten about the greif it took to get it back to this state .

Happy driving all.
