Crazy exhaust thoughts...

I have a B&B on my M5, installed by the PO. Sounds great. But I want something louder, and I want big ol' round tips. I have attempted to swap exhausts with other members, but after twice agreeing to a swap they seem to have fallen thru (somewhat understandably, it's kinda of a PITA). I'm sorry, but I refuse to pay $2k for a a pair of mufflers. And, none of the exhausts I have seen really do it for me...I don't really like any of the tips I have seen, or the cans are too big, or whatever.

So I'm kicking around the idea of picking up some Magnaflow mufflers and having a muffler shop weld up some pipes. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ne=main&id=762

I need to jack up the car and take some measurements. I don't even know if the B&B has an X-pipe or the pipe diameter (the website sucks too), because that particular magnaflow is 2.25" inlet.

I'm not set on Magnaflow and I didn't pick that brand for any particular reason. I don't know if I will actually attempt it, but if I do, it probably wouldn't cost more than $500 and if I like it I could easily sell the B&B to recoup the cost. I dunno, I'm just thinking out loud right now.

Magnaflows will be very loud, and drone like no tomorrow. If you can handle them, they're about the best sound you can get though.

I'm considering doing this, alot of the 540 guys do it and love the exhaust note. The price on their site is alot though, should be able to find that muffler for around $100 or so.

I would never do it to an M5, it just isnt right, but I would love to hear what a set of 40 series Flowmasters would sound like. BTW I have a video clip of my M5 with SS headers, cats, and xpipe without the mufflers installed if anyone can host it.

Should I remove the Magnaflows?

Beamer usa,
Your talk of the Magnaflow drone is getting me worried, as I am buying an M Coupe in another state that has Magnaflow 14815's installed. Do you think the sound is going to drive me nuts over an 8 day road trip? More to the point, should I pay serious money and have Eisenmann sports put on instead? Opinions from anybody else are welcome, too.
