I like the view you posted there the best. overall I think they will enjoy success with the SL buying crowd. I dont know if they will win that many new people to the SL fold- or if they even want to or have to.
I think it looks as a Mercedes sports car should and is a big improvement on the CL models, which to me look unbalanced.
I dont like how from a rear looking 3/4 view you can see the hood is so much higher than the door. All the new MBs have this and this one has it the worst of them all- thats my biggest design gripe.
I see a lot of commentary comparing it to a Z8- but it really shouldnt be. This is to be a mass produced car thats sold on the basis of volume demand. The Z8 is a hand built car that has a very limited run. And hopefuly only sold to those of us who know how to drive a manual transmission.
Overall, the SL never impressed me b/c of its heavy feel- but although Im not interested in owning this car, I do like it and I think it is a very nice addition to a classic line of cars. For the person it appeals to, Im sure they will be very happy.

I recently drove the current SL500, I was disapointed to say the least. The car had way too much cowl shake. I'm still trying to figure out why the car has such a cult following. The little M roadster at half the price felt a lot tighter, not to mention a blast to drive.
The Bonnet is too long...i never did like those lights, even on the older models, the only lights that i like that MB makes is on the S class, those lights rule!!
