Pusher Fan

What's going on with Pusher Fans? I brought my M5 in for its 1200 checkup & was told that the fan was defective. It turns out they have 4 other cars there with the same problem. Unfortunately there is no stock in the US & the ETA from Germany is undetermined at this time. The dealer has already had my car for a week. In fact, he's had it longer than I have (May built). Anyone else out there with a similar problem?

With less than 1000 miles on the clock my car dissappeared in a cloud of smoke coming from the front of the car. At the time I thought I had a binding front caliper as I had had a similar experience with my 928 gts. Since then I have noticed that the viscous fan is audible much more often and when the ac is running on a hot day the water temp climbs a little. Do you think this may be a burnt out aux fan. I have not had any smoke since that occasion. Anyone know where the fuse for this is as it doesn't seem to be with th the main fuse bank?

Check out this thread...this seems to be a chronic and potentially serious problem.
